Dr. Siperstein, founder and owner of Blossom Health in West Warwick, Rhode Island, had a busy career and busy life outside of work when in 2020 she established her own specialty practice devoted to treatment of young adults. In the midst of that and the global pandemic, she successfully obtained her Board Certification in Adolescent and Young Adult Psychiatry. Why then, and for what purpose? Dr. Siperstein responds:
"As a psychiatrist who primarily works with college and graduate students, the ABAP Certification felt like it made sense as a process to pursue to help validate my experience and also to help market my practice".
Dr. Siperstein completes her term on the ABAP Board next month. During her term, she has contributed many ideas, written exam questions, reviewed recertification clinical case reports, participated in ongoing examination question revisions, reviewed videos for inclusion in our exam, and promoted ABAP certification for general psychiatrists working with older teens and young adults.
