STUDY GUIDE:

Yes. We have a published study guide which is also available on the ASAP Website.

REVIEW COURSE:

Yes. In response to many requests, we have developed and offer an online, self-paced and self-guided Review Course in Adolescent & Young Adult Psychiatry. This course contains much of the material covered in the examinations. This online review course provides a comprehensive overview of the field and utilizes lectures available in the public domain as well as presentations from the 2016-2025 ASAP annual meetings. However, being that this is public domain material, Category I CME credit is not available although candidates are likely able to claim Category II credit for this course. Some of the ABAP examination questions are drawn from this material. The course may be accessed online here.

IS A REVIEW COURSE REQUIRED?

Not yet. However, our educational prerequisites are undergoing change at this time and completion of an ABAP-approved online, open access, core curriculum will become a requirement for certification as of October 1, 2027. Completion of this core curriculum is optional but highly recommended until that time, as some of the ABAP examination questions are drawn from this material. The educational requirements for certification are outlined here.
