No. To be ABMS recognized we would need to require a specific fellowship training program that was appropriately accredited by the ACGME. This is beyond our current capabilities as well as those of current training programs in general psychiatry and would severely limit this opportunity if it were a requirement. It is important to know that many specialty boards are not ABMS recognized yet provide valuable training and certification standards. Examples of valid specialty certifications that are not ABMS recognized include the "Certified Physician Executive" program hosted by The American Association of Physician Leadership, "Board Certification in Community and Public Psychiatry" hosted by The American Association for Community Psychiatry, and "Board Certification in Obesity Medicine" hosted by The American Board of Obesity Medicine.
